Quicksilver for Mac OS X is GODLY.

If your’e running OS X and don’t know about Quicksilver then you are obviously doing things the hard way. In short, Quicksilver is a launcher, but it goes WAY beyond that. I’m the type of person who hates to use the mouse – its just slow and obnoxious, if I can do it with keystrokes, I will. This application makes my keyboard wet dreams come true as I can do almost anything I need to just by activating Quicksilver (through keystrokes, naturally).

One of the other great driving forces behind this application is that since you can run files, you can write custom AppleScripts and have them run through Quicksilver making your life even easier. One such script I have right now is to take the current URL from Safari and store it on my Quicksilver Shelf. (What is the shelf? It is a ‘clipboard’ for useful things other than text).

Another thing I can’t live without is, since i love the terminal so much, the ability to get files from the terminal window into quicksilver to open with specific programs (or other options). Its a major pain in the ass if i want to open a .SQL file with anything other than its default application while in the terminal. Quicksilver allows me to type “qs , , ” bam.

Not really sure of why I wrote this post, maybe because I’m sitting around waiting on people and was just using the app? Either way, bottom line is that Quicksilver fucking rules.
