Pimp Watch Dashboard Widget

I stumbled upon a great website for watches the other week and it sparked a complete new interest in writing dashboard widgets – TokyoFlash.com. This site is home to some of the most insane, abstract watches I’ve ever seen – and believe me, I will end up wasting a bunch of money there (once i get all this other jazz I “need” :) ). Anyway, as I was browsing through that site I came across a particularly cool watch, the “Pimp Pimpin’ ain’t Easy IP Black.” ( from Pimp-Watches.com ) This watch inspired me to write a dashboard widget to mimic its way of telling time – which is pretty offbeat in itself. Well, enough talk, here are the screenshots and download link:

A few notes:

This is only in alpha mode – I figure it can be released since its just a clock.. how much could I have screwed that up? haha. I would like (ask Sam politely because hes the best UI designer I’ve ever known – just look at the confession booth haha..) to re-do the interface and try to also add the effects that come with the original pimp watch, but I’m so pressed for time inbetween projects that this is a ways off I think. Regardless, this is still a pretty cool dashboard widget. Enjoy :)

I love this idea! I would run it on my dashboard except for the amount of cpu it takes… especially when the dashboard is not visible.

If you redesign the code so that it isn’t processing when the dashboard is hidden, this would be a usable app.

    cheers
